Training and innovation: PCTO at Soluta

Soluta gives importance to training and collaboration with high schools and offers students the opportunity to get in touch with the world of work through the Pathways for Transversal Skills and Guidance (PCTO).
Also this year, several students did their internship at our company, working on concrete and innovative projects and putting their knowledge into practice and acquiring new skills.
Nicolas' project: Visual recognition of expense report data via mobile OCR system with IONIC
Nicolas has developed a project focused on creating a system for managing expense reports via a web app. The idea behind his work is to use his smartphone camera to scan receipts, processing them with an OCR library to extract data automatically. This aspect is particularly useful in the CRM field, allowing salespeople to have all the data connected directly to the system.
Through the use of technologies such as VueJS, Ionic, and Tesseract.js, Nicolas has designed an application that simplifies the process of reporting business expenses. The system allows images to be captured, relevant information extracted and sent to a centralized server for storage and management.
The project followed a number of stages, from the establishment of the user interface with VueJS to the development of a backend with ExpressJS for data storage. As an optional improvement, Nicolas also explored the use of AI technologies to refine receipt information recognition.
Rebecca's project: Cybersecurity monitoring system to identify intrusion attempts via OWASP rules on Stack Elk
Rebecca worked on a project dedicated to cybersecurity and network performance monitoring. Its goal was to develop a system for analyzing logs generated by a reverse proxy (Caddy), optimizing data collection and visualization through ElasticSearch and Kibana. From a cybersecurity perspective, CRM systems must also integrate monitoring tools to guarantee data security.
The system proposed by Rebecca makes it possible to track intrusion attempts and to monitor the performance performance of the corporate network. Thanks to the integration with Filebeat, data is transformed and sent to ElasticSearch to be analyzed with interactive dashboards in Kibana.
During the internship Rebecca worked on analyzing log files, configuring monitoring tools, and creating custom dashboards to identify patterns of cyberattacks and improve corporate security.
A process of growth
The projects developed by Nicolas and Rebecca demonstrate how the PCTO represents a concrete and highly valuable experience. Soluta is committed to the training of students and offers them the chance to test themselves on experimental projects and contribute to innovation. This is a real contamination: a mutual training situation in which students develop useful projects in the CRM field, while we at Soluta provide them with the opportunity to experiment in the workplace.
Congratulations to Nicolas and Rebecca for the effort they put into the project!
